Group therapy aims to bring about reduction in symptoms such as negative symptoms, poor motivation, as well as improvement in social functioning, better adjustment and improved interpersonal relationship skills. One of the goals of group therapy is to bring people who share similar experiences together. Group therapy allows individuals to watch others progress, allowing them to see the improvements in their own lives as well. The shared perspectives of others can help the individual to identify challenges, learn how to address them, and see the real progress they're making through the eyes of others.
